Pine Needles

Southern Pines, North Carolina

The sandhills of North Carolina provided the perfect setting for Donald Ross to create two memorable courses. Pine Needles and Mid Pines, host of six USGA championships between them, give today’s golfer the opportunity to experience classic Ross. Pine Needles was renovated a few years ago to restore it to Ross’ original vision; Mid Pines is one of his rare designs that has retained its original character. Fairly serious golf is played here, but you won’t encounter six-hour rounds. The golf resort is casual, relaxed, and uncrowded. What you can expect is good lodging and food, along with some very affordable packages.
